Assistant Director
Job Description
Thistleoaks Child Care Centre is Oakville’s premier provider of child care services. Thistleoaks currently has an immediate opening for an energetic, highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director. The Assistant Director position is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in the day to day operations of the Centre, as well as ensuring consistent enrollment of the Centre.
As the Assistant Director and RECE Professional, your primary role will be to act as the Centre’s Educational Supervisor. Your main areas of responsibilities will include:
• To provide overall supervision of the classrooms to ensure delivery of our Emergent Curriculum programming
• Will assist individuals or groups of teachers in improving strategies, obtaining materials and properly documenting as per the Emergent Curriculum philosophy
• Guiding and helping teachers by conducting classroom visitations and demonstrations to promote governing the Centre’s philosophy
• Encouraging professional growth of staff members by developing individual Professional Development Plans, as well as identifying in-service programs that will be beneficial to the staff in his/her section
• Acting as a mentor to teachers through the sharing of information and discussion
• Fostering co-operative and harmonious staff relations
• The Assistant Director shall maintain consistent lines of communication with parents in order that issues might readily be resolved and a spirit of mutual goodwill and co-operation might prevail
Required Skills
• You must be registered with the College of ECE’s, have up to date immunizations and First Aid/CPR certificates, and you must provide a current Police Check
• You have proven experience in delivering the Emergent Curriculum program in a classroom setting
• Must possess a high order of personal and professional qualities and leadership skills
• Demonstrated ability as an educational leader with knowledge of supervision of instruction and personal evaluation
• You should be detailed orientated, creative and demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills, along with developed verbal and written communication skills
• Have a sound working knowledge of DNA and have had exposure to Ministry compliance and licensing processes
This position involves many exciting aspects of the child care services industry. You must be flexible to work a variety of shifts as well as be willing to integrate yourself in various classroom settings to ensure the smooth functioning of the Centre.

Full-time RECE
Job Description
Thistleoaks Child Care Centre is Oakville’s premier provider of child care services. Thistleoaks is seeking an energetic, highly motivated and organized Registered ECE professional who is able and willing to provide a nurturing and safe environment for both parent and child.
As a Registered Early Childhood Educator, you will work with our growing team of RECE Professionals to design curriculums, asses children’s developmental needs and stages, plan programs and activities that will help children make developmental progress, but most of all, you will maintain healthy emotional and social learning contexts for children built within healthy, safe, nurturing and challenging play environments.
Skills
You must be registered with the College of ECE’s, have up to date immunizations and First Aid/CPR certificates, and you must provide a current Police Check.
You should be detailed, creative, a team player with developed verbal and written communication skills (bilingualism would be an asset).
This position involves many exciting aspects of the child care services industry. You must be flexible to work a variety of shifts as well as in various classroom settings including, but not limited to: infant, toddler and preschool programs; before- and after- school programs as well as kindergarten. Our training and leadership support will allow you to learn and gain knowledge and experience as an RECE.
