Flexicare/Thistlegarden
(3 to 5½ year old)
Our Thistlegarden room is a flexible program allowing us to accommodate families with part-time and flexible schedules and is the only program at the centre that offers a half-day option. Each week the children are introduced to new and exciting ideas to match the individual care and education needs of the diverse age of the children. The children are involved in the planning process and have input into the program to match the emergent philosophy of the centre, as well as pre-planned activities to foster development in all areas including school readiness.
The focus of this program is peer interactions and social development in a family grouping setting.*Note: toilet training is not mandatory for this program. This program is ideal for shift workers and parents looking for a program to help introduce their child to social interactions with peers in a school like setting.
Teacher/child ratio for Thistlegarden is 1:8.
