Summer Adventure Camp 2019
Registration for the Thistleoaks Summer Adventure Camp is now open! We offer Summer Camp on a week-by-week basis, so only enroll for the weeks you would like your child(ren) to attend. Our camp costs $250 per week, and we offer care from 6:45am to 6:00pm. Campers must bring their own morning snack and lunch; we will provide an afternoon snack. Thistleoaks Summer Adventure Camp has swimming twice a week at the local outdoor pool, two field trips each week, and endless planned activities, projects, and special days. Don't forget to check your calendar daily! All trips are subject to change, depending on other bookings, weather considerations, and so on.
Descriptions of the planned activities for each week are below, please visit the office or email Mindy for a full registration package. Spots are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't wait!!

Week 1: Wonderful Welcome
Tuesday, July 2nd to Friday, July 5th
Let’s kick off summer in a wonderful way. Will start by going to Coronation Park and enjoying a variety of teambuilding games, getting to know each other, and enjoying all the park has to offer! Next we will wander and explore at Rockwood Conservation Area! There we will kick back and have some relaxation time while building sandcastles lakeside!

Week 2: Splish Splash
Monday, July 8th to Friday, July 12th
Pack your swimsuit, sunscreen, and towels! We are going to have some fun in the sun and dive into some water fun! First we will be playing water games at Gulliver Lake, then going to Binbrook Conservation Area for the water sports park!

Week 3: Make It or Catch It?
Monday, July 15th to Friday, July 19th
Let’s take a walk downtown Oakville to make our own pizza! With some fresh dough and toppings, what’s your favourite pizza? Sure you can make it, but can you catch it? When we go to Heart Lake Conservation Area, are you feeling lucky enough to catch a fish?

Week 4: Gettin’ Buggy With It
Monday, July 22nd to Friday, July 26th
How do you feel about catching bugs, getting messy, and learning about slimy, weird creatures? Then trekking down the trails at Bronte Creek and visiting the Ontario Science Centre are the exciting things to do this week!

Week 5: Let’s Pamper Ourselves!
Monday, July 29th to Friday, August 2nd
Let’s sunbathe and exfoliate in the sandy beach at Christie Lake. Then we will spend a day getting facials and manicures under the shade of the trees in Rotary Park.

Week 6: Winged Friends
Tuesday, August 7th to Friday, August 10th
We will begin the week and Chinguacousy Park, where we will spend time at the splash pad and watch for birds and butterflies in the park environment. Then we are off to the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Watch where you step and keep your hands still - you never know who might land on you!

Week 7: Play Forts and Hideaways
Monday, August 13th to Friday, August 17th
A great time to familiarize your sense of sight, hearing, and touch while exploring the giant rocks and caverns at Mount Nemo Conservation Area. Then let’s use all our senses and go to the Hamilton Children’s Museum, where we will participate in the science of play!

Week 8: Furry, Fuzzy, Slimy, and Smooth Friends
Monday, August 20th to Friday, August 24th
What’s your favourite four-legged friend? if you’re undecided then maybe having the zoo come to us will help you out! Then we will travel to High Park and pick out our second-favourite!

Week 9: The Finale!
Monday, August 27th to Friday, August 31st
We are close to the end, but summer is not over yet. Let’s spend one last day at the beach and go to Kelso Conservation Area. Then to finish it all off, let’s splish-splash at Wild Waterworks for the best day of fun in the sun!!
